Palestinian Authority (PA) cabinet leader Mohammad Shtayyeh on Tuesday blasted the countries which backed Israel’s counterterrorism operation in Jenin.

"To those who say that Israel has the right to defend itself, we say - 'The Israeli army is an army of occupation,'" said Shtayyeh.

The top PA official also added that "they invaded a refugee camp, arrested and killed innocent people, and the Palestinian lands are occupied territories."

On Tuesday evening, an IDF aircraft targeted an armed terrorist cell located in a cemetery on the outskirts of the city of Jenin. The gunmen posed a threat to the security forces exiting from the Jenin Camp.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit noted, “This is further proof of the exploitation of civilian areas in the city of Jenin and the Jenin Camp by terrorist operatives.”

IDF, Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), and Israel Border Police forces have thus far confiscated over a thousand weapons in Jenin, among them explosive devices, ammunition, guns and explosives facilities.

Over 300 suspects were questioned by security forces; among them, 30 were apprehended.
