Yitzhak (Eden) Kalifa, about 20 years old, was found last night dead in his room at an academy in Jerusalem, after his mother, who lives in Bnei Brak, reported his absence and lost contact with him.
He was brought to the Institute of Forensic Medicine and due to the overload and limited staff at the institute there was concern that his body would not be released before Shabbat.
After multiple efforts by the rabbi of the Forensic Medicine Institute and the ZAKA Tel Aviv team, the deceased was released for burial and laid to rest before Shabbat.
He was buried in the Petach Tikva cemetery next to his father, who tragically died after drowning in a ritual bath.
Zvi Hasid, CEO of ZAKA Tel Aviv, commented: "This is another one of the cases in which the organization's volunteers gave support and companionship to the family from the moment the tragedy became known. I thank MK Uriel Buso (Shas), Chairman of the Health Committee, the Rabbi of the National Institute, Rabbi Asher Landau, and the Institute's staff who did everything to help the family and bring him to burial today."
