The Knesset is expected to begin the discussion on the passage of the 'Reasonableness Standard' bill in its second and third readings at 10 am this morning.

The debate is expected to last over a day, during which the opposition will be able to raise reservations about the bill.

After that, Knesset Constitution Committee chairman Simcha Rothman and Justice Minister Yariv Levin will summarize the discussion and the votes on the reservations will begin. The vote to approve the bill is expected to take place tomorrow afternoon, but the coalition fears that the opposition will attempt to force a vote earlier.

However, the coalition's majority for the bill is still not guaranteed. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant arrived this morning at Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer for a conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu underwent an operation to install a pacemaker overnight.

Kan Reshet Bet reported that according to sources in the coalition, Minister Gallant will convey a message that if there is no effort to postpone the legislation or a real effort to soften the wording of the law, he will not participate in the vote.

Sources close to Gallant said that he is doing everything in his power to reach as broad an agreement as possible, and that this effort has nothing to do with his vote on the bill.

Last night, coalition sources warned that any minister who does not vote in favor of the bill tomorrow will be fired, - including Gallant.
