The IDF today (Thursday) published helmet footage from the recapture of the Sufa military post by the elite Shayetet 13 naval commando unit during the Hamas invasion and massacre in southern Israel on Saturday.
The regular and reserve forces of Shayetet 13 were dispatched to the area by helicopters shortly after the arrival of the reports of the infiltration by Hamas terrorists over the Gaza border on Saturday morning and joined the forces already fighting in the field.
The forces began fighting in the surrounding communities and at the sea at the same time. The commandos moved from point to point in the towns and fought the terrorists under fire throughout the region with the aim of eliminating the terrorists and freeing the hostages.
The commandos operated in many arenas of battle, the main of which were in Kibbutz Be'eri, Kibbutz Sufa, Kfar Aza, Kibbutz Sa'ad, Kibbutz Mefalsim, and Kibbutz Nir Oz.
During the battles, the Shayetet 13 commandos eliminated over 60 terrorists and rescued about 250 hostages alive. They arrested 26 terrorists, including one of the commanders of Hamas' naval forces.
In the footage, one of the commandos can be heard telling other soldiers: "Say Shema Yisrael, stay in the bunker. We're coming."
