Israel’s Ambassador to the US, Michael Herzog, met on Tuesday with senior representatives from the Red Cross at its US offices in Washington.
Herzog delivered thousands of birthday greetings for Israeli hostage Ohad Munder Zikhri, who turned 9 years old on Monday and is being held hostage by Hamas in Gaza along with his mother and grandparents.
"Ohad, along with about 220 other citizens, including the elderly, women and children, has been held for over two weeks in Gaza City in harsh conditions and in violation of international law," Ambassador Herzog said.
"I call on the Red Cross to act against the war crimes of Hamas by ordering the return of all the hostages unconditionally, demanding an immediate visit by the Red Cross to all the hostages and to deliver the birthday letters to Ohad," he added.
