'Never forget, never forgive:' MKs watch uncenscored video of Hamas massacre
Dozens of MKs watch video shown to foreign media showing the extent of Hamas' atrocities in southern Israel, some could not watch to the end
The full 47-minute film compilation of clips showing the massacre in southern Israel on October 7 was screened today (Wednesday) for a group of 47 MKs and their staffs in the Knesset. The MKs who attended the screening came from both the coalition and the opposition.
This is the same uncensored video that was shown to foreign media last week depicting the atrocities that were committed against the 1,400 people who were murdered, hundreds who were taken hostage to Gaza, and thousands who were wounded on October 7.
Several MKs broke down during the showing and had to leave in the middle. MK Galit Distel-Atbaryan wrote: "We attending the screening of 'the film.' The same uncensored film that journalists have already been exposed to. Today was the turn of the MKs. The Knesset doctor is standing outside the hall offering sedatives to the MKs before they view it. I've never taken such a pill before, but today I took it without thinking twice."
"I held out in the hall for five minutes. Then I ran away crying and shaking. Regardless of the sedatives, I'm writing the following words to you after having an anxiety attack I've never experienced before," she said.
"Don't hate each other, the monsters hate you enough. Hate the enemy, hate the monsters. Every instance of internal bickering is a crazy and horribly stupid waste of energy," Distel-Atbaryan wrote.
MK Vladimir Beliak wrote: "I watched the film by the IDF spokesman about the atrocities and crimes committed by Hamas on October 7, 2023. I can't talk about the content, I can't talk about what I'm feeling. I can say just one sentence - never forget and never forgive. Ever."
MK Almog Cohen wrote: "We need to start speaking fluent Arabic to make it clear [to Hamas] that we will crush their bones."
Ra'am chairman MK Mansour Abbas stated that the experience of seeing the film was "so difficult that I cannot speak." MKs Ayman Odeh and Ahmad Tibi did not attend the screening.
MK Meirav Ben-Ari "I didn't cry, I didn't break down, I didn't take a sedative at the entrance and I didn't run away from the hall. I watched everything from the front rows in the hall, to the end. It was important for me to look these monsters in the eyes and see our murdered. I left there and told myself that we will win. It is clear to me that the day after the war, all those who brought us to this disaster will pay."
