A man and woman were injured Monday morning in what appears to be a combination stabbing-shooting attack near Herod's Gate in Jerusalem, near the Shalem police station. The terrorist was eliminated by security forces. He has been identified as as 16-year-old resident of Isawiya. The woman, who is critically injured, has been identified as a 20-year-old Border Police officer. The man, who is lightly injured, is also a Border Police officer. Magen David Adom evacuated the injured officers, who suffered penetrative wounds, to Hadassah Mount Scopus. We immediately began treating them and evacuated them to the nearby Mount Scopus Hospital, with the female in critical condition and the male in mild condition." A police spokesperson confirmed the identity of the terrorist as a 16-year-old from Isawiya, as well as his death. "Meanwhile, police forces arrested an additional suspect near the scene, and his connection to the terrorist and terror attack are currently under investigation," the spokesperson added. "The area of the terror attack and Sultan Suleiman Street have been closed to traffic until management of the scene is completed." Large numbers of police officers are streaming towards Jerusalem's Old City, in an attempt to catch additional terrorists who may have been accomplices in the attack. The Old City's gates have been closed, and Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai is at the scene of the attack.
