The names of two IDF soldiers who fell in battles with Hamas terrorists in the northern Gaza Strip were cleared for publication on Monday morning:
Major Isachar Natan, 28, from Kiryat Malachi, and Staff Sergeant Itay Shoham, 21, from Rosh Haayin. Both served as combat officers in the Commando Brigade.
In addition, a soldier from the Oketz unit was seriously injured during Sunday’s fighting.
The Washington Post reported on Sunday that evidence surfacing since the Hamas attack on October 7 shows that the terrorists had prepared for a “second wave” of assaults, hoping to inspire violence in Judea and Samaria and beyond.
Items found on the bodies of slain terrorists, including maps, drawings, notes, weapons, and more found that they planned to continue on their murderous rampage way further than the initial attack on the communities surrounding the Gaza border.
Meanwhile, the White House said on Sunday night that a three-year-old girl whose parents were murdered in the Hamas massacre on October 7 is among the Americans who are held hostage in Gaza. No further details were provided.
This information was included in a readout of President Joe Biden’s call with Amir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani of Qatar.
