The Religious Zionist party responds to the outline of the deal for the release of some of the hostages held by Hamas in Gaza and calls to oppose it. "As much as the publications regarding the hostages deal that will be brought to the government today are true, the proposed deal is bad and must not be agreed to. Bad for Israel's security, bad for the hostages and bad for the IDF soldiers. We want to see all of them home safe and sound and our hearts go out to their families and that is precisely why this is a deal that should not be agreed to," said the party. They also noted that "the military pressure on Hamas is working and that is why Hamas and Sinwar are now offering such a deal. Hamas is desperate for a truce in order to redeploy for the continuation of the fighting, while repeatedly manipulating us through the rest of the hostages, and therefore we need to continue the pressure and make sure that all of them are released." The party said that the hostages are constantly on their minds and the deal could endanger those who will remain in captivity. "We are considering the wellbeing of the remaining hostages, including IDF soldiers and women, that the deal will abandon them for an unknown period of time, raise their "price" and give Hamas the opportunity to hide them and withstand longer IDF attacks. We are considering that the IDF will be exposed to attacks and threats of kidnapping and murder during the cease-fire, with a limited ability to respond, and an increased risk of life with the resumption of fighting after Hamas redeploys. We are also considering the residents of the communities surrounding Gaza that the threat that harmed them and threatens to continue harming them will remain and will be strengthened during the days of the ceasefire. We are considering the citizens and soldiers who will be murdered and kidnapped in the future, in Israel and in other countries of the world, both by those released in the deal, and with the aim of exerting additional pressure on Israel." Religious Zionism will be insistent on the continuation of the war until the complete destruction of Hamas, return of all the hostages and the removal of the threat posed by the Gaza Strip to the citizens of Israel," the party concluded.
