National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir held a situational assessment today with the Police Commissioner and Prison Commissioner regarding the prisoner exchange deal.
Ben-Gvir ordered the Prison Commissioner to prevent all celebrations of the deal by prisoners.
He also asked that the Police Commissioner station additional forces in areas where the terrorists are expected to visit following their release and take a firm stance against any expressions of support for terrorism.
"Everyone knows how much I oppose this deal, how much I think that this deal is wrong, and how it is forbidden to stop the IDF while they are trying to fight. I hope that with God's help, as the Prime Minister said, the war will continue even more fiercely. I disagree with the decision that was made, but now that it has been made, we must carry it out," Ben-Gvir stated.
"My instructions are clear: no celebrations. We, in eastern Jerusalem, at least, can contain the process. Celebrations, which turned them into heroes of terrorism, victory parties, any backing for these monstrous people, these Nazis - the policy and directive are clear and do not allow any celebrations of this sort. Our officers are to immediately engage and end any demonstrations of support for the Nazis."
