Political analyst Amit Segal on Friday morning estimated that even if there are additional pauses in the fighting, the war with Hamas will continue.
"Last week there were those who warned very adamantly that a ceasefire would lead to the end of the war," he explained. "There was a ceasefire, over 100 hostages were freed, and the war restarted."
"Even if there are more pauses, the war will continue," he estimated.
Just after 7:00a.m., the IDF announced that following Hamas' violation of the ceasefire, and resumption of rocket fire towards Israel, "The IDF has resumed combat against the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip."
"IDF fighter jets are currently striking Hamas terror targets in the Gaza Strip," the IDF added.
A diplomatic source said, "We are renewing the fighting with all our might. There are no negotiations for the release of hostages."
