Kibbutz Nir Oz has announced that Aryeh (Zalman) Zalmanovich, 85, was murdered by Hamas terrorists. Zalmanovich, one of the founders of Nir Oz, was kidnapped to Gaza by Hamas terrorists on October 7. "Zalman was a father of two sons and a grandfather of five grandchildren," a statement said. "Aryeh was, for his entire life, a man of the land, who was occupied with agriculture and field crops. He was an educated man, and had broad knowledge on matters of history and the land." Around two weeks ago, Hamas published a video clip of Zalmanovich, which created great fears for his life. At the time, the family requested that the video not be shared. Zalmanovich's body is being held by Hamas.
