The IDF cleared for publication on Sunday that Maj. (Res.) Dor Zimel, 27 from Even Yehuda, has succumbed to his wounds after he was severely wounded last week by launches from Lebanon that hit Arab al-Aramshe. Zimel was a deputy company commander in Battalion 8103 of the Etzioni (6th) Brigade. Zimel was called up to reserve duty on October 7th and has served on the northern front since then. During his reserve service, he proposed to his girlfriend, and the two were scheduled to wed shortly. On Saturday, his father stated: "Our beloved Dor is on a respirator and his condition is still critical, we pray for his recovery. Thank you for the hundreds of messages and phone calls to support us. Dor and Shir have a date for the wedding, June 7th. Dor, the lion, is making unbelievable efforts, we can only pray. Thank you for your prayers and support. I ask you to continue to pray will full force." Maj. (Res.) Dor Zimel will be laid to rest on Monday at 12:00 p.m. in the military section of the Even Yehuda Cemetary. His friends wrote: "From 11:30 we will pay last respects and stand with Israeli flags from the entrance to the American School along the road to the cemetery."
