Border Police officers shot and eliminated the terrorist, who was later found to be a tourist from Türkiye. He was identified as Hassan Skalanan, a tourist who entered Israel on Monday through the Allenby Crossing between Israel and Jordan.

Magen David Adom paramedics are providing the victim with medical treatment at the scene.

MDA Paramedic Benny Liebskind described: "We joined the police teams at the scene, saw a 30 year old male who was fully conscious with stab wounds to his upper body. We treated him and he was evacuated to hospital in moderate condition."

United Hatzalah volunteer EMTs Yechiel Stern and Yosef Chaim Gabai reported: "The injured was a man in his 30s who is in moderate condition. After we provided initial treatment at the scene he was transported to the hospital while conscious and in stable condition."

"A short time ago, a terrorist who arrived armed with a knife began to stab Border Police officers operating at Herod's Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem," Border Police said in a statement. "A Border Police team, led by an officer, quickly responded and eliminated the terrorist."
