Defense Minister Israel Katz on Thursday warned Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan against dragging Turkey into "dangerous adventures."

"Erdogan is dragging Turkey into dangerous adventures in Syria," Katz wrote on X. "Israel will not allow any entity to threaten its security."

"It is preferable for Erdogan to continue delivering empty, delusional speeches against Israel in the Turkish parliament rather than testing Israel's resolve to defend itself."

Earlier this week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the strike in Syria, stressing that Israel opposes a Turkish military buildup in Syria.

"We will not tolerate a Turkish military presence in Syria that threatens Israel. We made the message clear: Don’t. Apparently, they didn’t hear it clearly enough, so we made sure they understood it better," he said.

Arab media reported that four airstrikes hit the runway at Abu al-Duhur early Tuesday morning. The aircraft involved were not identified, and the reports said the strikes caused material damage to the runway without causing injuries.

Turkey rejected the statement, and its Directorate of Communications stated: "The allegations put forward by the Israeli Prime Ministry, which lack seriousness, aim to legitimize Israel's unlawful airstrikes targeting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria."

"The accusations raised stem from Netanyahu's intent to continue his expansionist and destabilizing policies in the region ahead of elections in Israel.

"Turkey, like the vast majority of the international community, supports the establishment of lasting peace in our region. The sole path to this lies in Netanyahu abandoning his aggressive and coercive policies and demonstrating respect for international law."

Turkey also defended its cooperation with the Syrian government, saying, "Turkey will steadfastly continue its cooperation with the Syrian Government on legitimate grounds to establish peace, stability, and prosperity in Syria, and will never allow Syria to be destabilized."
