During these days of continuous and deadly missile attacks from the Gaza strip on southern Israel, it is most eye-opening to take a look back to the days when the expulsion from Gush Katif was up for the decisive Knesset vote,  and see the way some of Israel's elected representatives related to the nationalist warnings that what is occurring now would be the situation if Israel ever retreated from Gaza, as it did in August 2005.
