A Palestinian Arab driving a stolen vehicle arrived on Wednesday night from Highway 1 to Ben Gurion Airport and broke through the entry barrier.
A security guard who was in the area fired at the vehicle in an attempt to stop the suspect, who fled to a nearby gas station and abandoned the vehicle. The suspect was caught a short time later and handed over to police for questioning. The entrances and exits from the airport and the terminals were closed in accordance with standard operating procedures, but there were no delays in departures.
