Minister of Culture and Sport Miki Zohar met this evening (Monday) with Turkish Ambassador to Israel Shakir Özkan Turnler, and expressed condolences on behalf of the Israeli government for the serious disaster caused by the earthquake that has claimed the lives of approximately 2,000 people so far.

It was reported that: "Minister Zohar met with the Turkish ambassador for a professional working meeting for cooperation in the fields of culture and sports between the countries. At the beginning of their meeting, Zohar asked the ambassador to convey his condolences to the Turkish people and offered him any assistance that may be required."
