The Shas party commented on the decision not to bring the Western Wall law to vote on Sunday.

"We welcome the Prime Minister's announcement that the status quo at the Western Wall will be maintained, as it has been until today. The Western Wall does not need any law. Most of the Jewish people respect the sanctity of the place, except for the 'women of provocation' who do not stop turning it into a political battleground, under the auspices of the Supreme Court."

"The law in essence is the preservation of the status quo. We had to submit it after the Supreme Court announced that it would not allow any postponement of the hearing. After the Prime Minister informed the heads of the political parties today that he intends to submit a response that means the debate has been postponed, we agreed to remove the law," Shas said.
