Opposition Chairman Yair Lapid criticized the decision to approve the establishment of a National Guard under Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.

"The government has approved broad cuts to finance Ben-Gvir's private militia. They will cut health, education, security, and everything else to finance a private army of thugs for the TikTok clown. The order of priorities of this government is absurd and despicable. The only thing that concerns it is trampling democracy and promoting the fantasies and extremism of delusional people".
