A new operation and development agreement was signed for Israel Rail until the year 2026, for an unprecedented amount of 62 billion shekels

Minister of Transportation Miri Regev said, "I am happy to welcome another step on the way to realizing the plan to develop transit in Israel. The agreement will allow us to continue to improve the service to passengers, increase the frequency of trains and continue the accelerated development of new lines all over the country, which will connect the periphery to the center and reduce traffic congestion in the metropolises and in the center of the country."
