Chief of Staff Hertzi Halevi rejects criticism from the right about the non-promotion of Brigadier General Ofer Winter in the round of appointments approved last week.

Halevi said that "the selection of the commanders in the IDF is made for pure professional considerations, and there are no others. Not the beret, not friendships, not religious belief. Any attempt at external intervention or introducing extraneous considerations into this process is wrong and even dangerous."
