Iran filed a complaint with the UN following the remarks of President Isaac Herzog at the official ceremony for International Holocaust Remembrance Day at the UN General Assembly. Herzog, iin his speech, stated that "the extremist leadership of Iran has turned its country into a hotbed of antisemitism, hate, and terror."

Israel's Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, responded to the Iranian complaint and said, "We will not sit idly by in the face of a murderous nation threatening the destruction of the Jewish people."
