The Ta'al Party, headed by Ahmed Tibi, announced on Sunday that it will continue to be a part of the Joint List Party, which is made up of Ta'al, Hadash and Balad.
The announcement, reported by journalist Muhammad Majadele, came following a meeting at the party headquarters in the city of Taibeh.
"We will not negotiate to change the composition of the current parties on the slate [of the Joint List], while preserving the right of each party to examine the performance of its representatives and select its candidates in its institutions," said a statement by Ta'al.
"Any attempt to achieve hegemony and create a dispute over seats between the components of the Joint List will be met with a clear and honest response, and we are prepared for all possibilities," the party added.
Ta'al stated that its efforts are now directed at the election campaign and on action in the field to mobilize popular support and increase the turnout among Arab society. The selection of Ta'al's candidates for the upcoming elections will take place on August 27.
Ta'al and the Balad Party had been considering running in the upcoming elections separately from the Joint List.
