Police have arrested a squad of three hit men who planned to commit a murder inside the area of the Italian Hospital in Nazareth.

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked outside the hospital with several individuals inside. Upon receiving the report, the police arrived at the scene and noticed three masked men getting out of the vehicle. The police officers exited their own vehicle with weapons drawn and arrested the three suspects while they were still in the suspect vehicle.

It is suspected that the three were planning to carry out an assassination in the hospital. Two loaded guns and other weapons were found in their possession.

The police investigators who began investigating the incident believe that the vehicle used by the suspects was a stolen vehicle with license plates stolen from yet another vehicle. In the vehicle they found a screwdriver for quickly changing numbers and a gas can that was intended to be used to ignite the vehicle after the murder and allow the perpetrators to escape.

The commander of the Northern District, Superintendent Shuki Tahauka, said: "We see once again that the war of criminal organizations knows no bounds. If it were not for the brave activity of the police officers, we could now find ourselves facing a completely different end to the event, which includes loss of life and even harm to uninvolved citizens inside the hospital area. We are using all our forces in the field in order to prevent further killing and violence and crush the criminal organizations."
